Where to go in the UAE? Global Village
Global Village is a large trade and exhibition complex located in Dubai. It is often called a fair due to the sheer number of retail outlets and the presence of an entertainment component.
How to get to the park?
The most convenient option is a taxi. The nearest metro station is located 20 km from the park. The price of the trip varies from 40 to 50 dirhams, if you go from the Mall of the Emirates metro. Alternatively, take the bus from Union, Al Ghubaiba, Rashidiya and Mall of the Emirates stations. Approximate traffic interval is 30 minutes.
The park is not open all year round. It usually opens at the end of October (at the start of the “high” tourist season) and closes in April. Dates are subject to change. From Saturday to Wednesday, the park is open from 4 pm to midnight, on Thursday and Friday, as well as on holidays - until 1 am.
The entrance ticket price is 15 dirhams. If you are over 65 years old, then you can enter the park completely free of charge, but in any case you will have to take a ticket at the ticket office (there are vending machines at the entrance that read the barcode of the ticket). Also, children under 3 years old and people with disabilities are entitled to a free ticket.
What can you see and buy in the park?
The Global Village consists of many pavilions representing different countries. In these pavilions you can buy goods that are produced in a particular country. Turkish sweets, Indian fabrics, Greek olives, furs from the Middle East - this and much more can be bought in one place at reasonable prices.
Many countries offer guests to try their local food (both in the format of free tastings and in the format of a street food trade).
Some countries, in addition to trade, offer visitors to the fair with real theatrical performances and concerts. Only here you can see Japanese dances, weaving of a real fishing net and incendiary dance of sirtaki in the neighboring pavilions. Seating is provided for spectators.
There is also a large stage in the park, on which a large-scale show is held every evening, which ends with fireworks. There is an amusement park for children with a lot of attractions for an additional fee.
With the onset of darkness, illumination turns on in the pavilions. The Eiffel Tower, Colosseum and London's famous telephone booths appear in their most festive attire.
In the Global Village you can buy goods from all over the world, but there is also something that cannot be bought for any money: a feeling of celebration, children's delight and impressions that will last a lifetime.
