Williston Basin International Airport
Williston Basin International Airport serves Williston, North Dakota with an all-encompassing $270 million project designed to meet current and future traveler needs - replacing Sloulin Field International Airport (ISN).
ISN had provided Williston's air service since 1947, but as demand increased due to the Bakken oil boom, its one-room departure hall and parking layout became overwhelmed. Additionally, its sloped runway of 1.3% did not meet FAA design standards that larger corporate jets or aircraft commercial carriers use to service communities as large as Williston; according to Anthony Dudas of Williston Airport.
Chrysalis Global Aviation was hired as a transition consultant by the City to ensure a smooth transition from ISN to XWA. They provided valuable input throughout construction process and worked to keep all stakeholders updated about opening day schedules and airport operational readiness information.
