General Information About Mazar-e Sharif International Airport

Although this airport is relatively new, its staff have proven very unhelpful. Their English is poor and no free water bottles are provided (you must purchase one in order to stay hydrated), as well as no facilities within its terminal building.

I would not advise this airport for anyone. There's nothing here that wouldn't be found in a third world country and its management does not seem concerned with passenger wellbeing.

The main airport building is quite attractive but in need of extensive refurbishment; as it has been abandoned for 20 years.

Terminal has few shops and restaurants; duty free shop availability is very limited, while immigration desk is too small and understaffed to function effectively.

Immigration checks require standing in long lines; then there's the rechecking of boarding passes which takes up some of your time; all this makes for a two and half-hour wait before your flight leaves.

Traveling through this airport is pleasant; however, they have some issues that need addressing immediately. It is very dirty with floors not as hygienic.

I have traveled to other countries and seen that their airports all offer much superior facilities than this one. I can only hope this changes soon!

No longer will I fly here; the experience was simply not worth my while. Immigration staff are unfriendly and failed to deliver good service; facilities weren't clean, and no water could be found for drinking.
