Naxos Airport is located four kilometres southwest of Chora, 4km off its main island road. The runway measures only 900m long, limiting services only to smaller planes coming directly from Athens International Airport or through prearranged charter flights from European airports.

An expansion project to expand an airport is underway and will enable direct international flights while creating more suitable safety conditions for larger aircraft. Estimated to cost 23,07 million euros, this plan calls for expanding both runway and aircraft parking area as well as improving maneuvering area.

There are also restaurants, fast food outlets, coffee shops and icecream stores offering food or icecream sales. And of course there's duty free shopping: perfumes, cosmetics, flowers and clothing all await purchase here.
