General Information About Region of Waterloo International Airport

The Region of Waterloo International Airport, also known as Kitchener/Waterloo Airport, is situated in Woolwich Township near Breslau in Ontario. As one of Canada's busiest airports, it handles more than 1.5 million passengers annually.

At present, the airport boasts one terminal building and a total floor space of about 30,000ft2. Located on over 1,000 acres and granted its present name in March 2004, its facilities currently boast one terminal building with approximately 18,000ft2 of floor space.

Transportation Taxis, limousines and chartered buses provide ground transport between the airport and three parking lots, while private cars park on-site.

Avis and national companies offering car rentals are located inside the terminal building.

Bearskin Airlines, WestJet and Sunwing Vacations all provide air service in this region to a range of Canadian hubs, U.S. cities and tropical destinations.

The airport connects directly with Waterloo and Guelph via Regional Road 17 or Fountain Street North, while also being easily accessible from London and Toronto through Highway 401.
