Planes land from the north providing great views of Venice as you fly in or out. On clear days this could make an enjoyable view-filled journey!

Travel to Venice by Bus

Within the city centre, public busses offer convenient transport to Piazzale Roma square in approximately 20 minutes for one ticket fare. Hotel shuttle services may also save time and money in reaching Venice airport directly.

An alternative option would be taking a private water taxi service that will get you as close to your hotel as possible and can cost roughly 100 euros. Aside from being faster, this will also give more space for luggage and ensure an easier journey.

Water buses offer another cost-cutting alternative, though their advantages do come with some drawbacks: only certain piers in Venice are serviced and there is often a long queue at port; furthermore, you will spend approximately an hour aboard before being picked up by taxi for transport back to your hotel.

Train travel can also get you to Venice Airport, though this method may not be convenient. Ryanair provides flights directly into Treviso Airport (19 miles away from Venice) from which bus transportation will bring you directly into Venice City Center.
