BTV is an international joint-use civil-military airport owned and operated by the City of Burlington in Vermont, United States. Located three nautical miles east of its central business district in South Burlington, 3 NM stands for three nautical miles or 6.67 kilometers.

As part of the Federal Aviation Administration's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems 2011-2015, this airport is classified as a primary commercial service airport with more than 10,000 passenger enplanements each year.

The terminal building structure comprises of two levels, each housing separate gates located underneath the North and South Concourses. On level one are baggage claim carousels, rental car counters and check-in/ticketing counters while security checkpoints leading to Gates 01-10 on Level two provide entryway security checkpoints leading to North Concourse with 10 gates labeled 01-10 for accessing security checkpoints leading to North Concourse.
