Daytona Beach International Airport is an approximately three mile southwest of Daytona Beach facility owned and managed by Volusia County Aviation Authority, serving various air carrier operations, flight schools, corporate aircraft as well as flight school programs.
This airport features three runways, a six-gate domestic terminal, and an international terminal to serve the area's airlines, flight schools, corporate pilots, and private pilots.
History
Naval Air Station Daytona Beach served as a major air base during World War II for the United States Navy and provided advanced training for Naval Aviators. Additional airfields at Spruce Creek, New Smyrna Beach, Ormond Beach, and Bunnell were used by this training base as well.
Today, Daytona Beach International Airport is predominantly served by Delta and American Airlines with nonstop flights from Atlanta, Charlotte, and other Southeast cities. Additionally, commuter propjet flights operate between Miami and Orlando and Daytona Beach International.
