General Information About Ezhou Huahu Airport

Ezhou Huahu Airport, the first professional cargo hub airport in Asia and fourth in the world, located in Hubei province is expected to increase air freight efficiency while furthering China's opening up process. Equipped with 23,000 sqm cargo terminal, nearly 700,000 sqm freight transit center, 124 parking stands, two runways and two cargo terminals it promises a lot of potential improvements and opening up.

On April 1st, SF Express unveiled its inaugural international route from San Francisco International Airport - with two roundtrip cargo flights bound for Belgium taking off every week, adding 400 tons of air express capacity.

Ezhou Huahu Airport will act as a cargo hub, helping SF Express create an integrated logistics network and improve transportation efficiencies while also enabling SF Airlines to utilize all available freight planes at full capacity.

By 2025, the airport plans to introduce 10 international cargo routes and 50 domestic routes, increasing cargo throughput by 2.45 million tonnes per annum. By 2030 this figure will rise further, reaching 3.3 million before ultimately skyrocketing again when a third runway comes online in 2050.

Working within an open connected data environment using Bentley BIM applications and ProjectWise, Ezhou Huahu Airport's team established a digital twin supporting multisourced 3D models, attributes, documents, reducing model delivery time by 90 days while streamlining multidisciplinary collaboration for increased productivity of 25%.
