Fukuoka Airport - General Information
Fukuoka Airport serves as the primary international gateway to Fukuoka City on Kyushu Island in Japan and ranks fourth busiest by passenger traffic in terms of total passenger numbers annually. Furthermore, this hub airport connects flights bound for western Japan.
At this airport there are two terminals: Domestic and International. Both terminals can be reached using a free shuttle service.
Monday to Friday from approximately 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, shuttle buses run between the Domestic and International terminals from approximately 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, as well as expressway buses which offer transport directly into Fukuoka City center or its surroundings.
Travel from the airport to Tenjin city centre (via bus or taxi) is straightforward and takes less than 15 minutes. Buses run frequently between these locations, although you could also opt for an even faster journey via taxi service.
Muslim travellers will find prayer facilities at the international terminal that include a small prayer room with an ablution facility to cleanse before praying, as well as restrooms to meet any toileting needs in the terminal.
