General Information GSP Airport serves as a key gateway for Upstate South Carolina. Situated between Greenville and Spartanburg, it is the second busiest airport in South Carolina and an integral component of local economies.
Established in 1962, this airport currently handles more than 2.6 million annual passengers through one terminal and 13 gates that offer an array of services tailored towards both leisure travelers and business travelers.
Airline ticketing counters and baggage claim are located on Level 1, while the central security checkpoint can be found on Level 2. A shopping, dining and entertainment area called Grand Hall featuring restaurants, shops, restrooms and a service desk can be found on Level 3. Concourse A has nine gates located to its left (south), while concourse B features four gates located to its right (north).
This airport currently features one 11,001-foot runway originally constructed in 1962, extended in 1995 and 1999 and scheduled for future development as a parallel 8,200-foot parallel runway.
Since 1988, Toronto Pearson International Airport has been designated as an international airport; however, federal regulations stipulate that to qualify as such an airport.
