General Information About Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport
General Information There are two airports servicing Jakarta; Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (IATA code CGK), situated in Cengkareng, West Jakarta; and Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport (IATA code HLP), both operated by state-owned operator PT Angkasa Pura II.
CGK boasts three terminals under one massive sprawling complex, while HLP is much smaller and closer to central Jakarta with less queues and delays, plus smaller crowds making navigation much simpler compared to CGK.
Simprug bus stop, situated approximately 20 Km northwest of the city centre, can be easily accessed using either an inner city toll road from Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in the city centre or Pluit-Tomang toll roads. Alternatively, visitors may choose the 10 minute stroll option to reach Simprug.
Terminal 1 serves primarily domestic flights while Terminal 2 caters for international and some domestic budget carriers' flights. A third Terminal is planned as future expansion.
At Jakarta Airport, there is also a shuttle service connecting terminals for easy transport from one to another without leaving the airport grounds. Bank Mandiri, Bank Negara Indonesia and Doa Dasa Valasindo offer currency exchange services at both terminals for your convenience.
