General Information About Hawke's Bay Airport
Hawke's Bay Airport, situated in Napier's suburb of Westshore, stands on what was formerly Ahuriri Lagoon; an area raised above sea level following the 1931 earthquake that devastated Hawke's Bay. Since 2010/11, its main runway has been extended to 1750 meters with two 240-metre Runway End Safety Areas at either end, making it long enough for Jet Services provided by Air New Zealand and Jetstar on domestic routes (A320 aircraft).
