Kalaupapa Airport, located two nautical miles northeast of Kalaupapa Settlement in Kalawao County on Molokai is used primarily as regional air service provider. In 1933, Kalaupapa Airport officially opened with a grass runway of 2,000 feet; later on a paved surface was added in 1953. Today it provides plane access for both Kalaupapa Settlement and Kalaupapa National Historic Park.
