General Information About Santos Dumont Airport in Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont Airport (SDU) is the second-busiest airport in Brazil and named in honor of aviation pioneer Alberto Santos Dumont (1873-1932).
Infraero manages this airport, which underwent renovation since 2004 in preparation for hosting the 2007 Pan American Games. A new passenger terminal was completed mid-2007 and now handles departures while arrivals continue to be handled through its original terminal.
