Girona–Costa Brava Airport

Girona Airport is perfect for those who need to visit Girona, Costa Brava (Lloret de Mar) and Barcelona. Girona-Costa Brava International Airport is located 12.5 km southwest of the city of Girona. The airport was built in 1965, but until recently it was distinguished by insignificant passenger traffic.

The airport consists of one two-storey passenger terminal building. There are 33 check-in counters on the ground floor, including 11 boarding gates on the second floor for both domestic and international flights. Food is available in the departure area of the airport, as well as in several shops.

In the early 2000s, due to the decision of Ryanair to use Girona Airport as its transport hub, the number of passengers increased dramatically. Following this, the airport infrastructure was also developed. There are several restaurants and shops where you can buy local delicacies: wine, sweets, the famous Spanish jamon (dried meat) and sweets. There is a bookstore and a souvenir department. There is a tourist office in the arrival hall, where they will give any information (the staff speaks English). From here you can also go on a sightseeing tour of Girona.

The schedule of buses to Girona and Barcelona is coordinated with the arrival and departure times of the planes. In addition, you can always use taxi services. There is a car rental service at the airport. There is a place for parking, both short–term - directly in front of the airport building, and for long-term - a 5-minute drive away.

The main train station closest to the airport is located in Girona . The nearest train station is the Riudellots stop, 4 km from the airport. There is a project to build a station for the LGV Perpignan-fIgueres AVE line, which runs a few hundred meters from the terminal.
