Dubuque Regional Airport is a public use airport managed and maintained by the City of Dubuque for public use, serving both commercial and general aviation flights. Featuring two runways, an air traffic control tower, and terminal facility.
Overview, Inc. has created an airport on 1,2448-acres consisting of numerous corporate and private aircraft hangars as part of its 1,2448-acre facility, as well as airfield maintenance staff, 24-hour aircraft rescue fire-fighting staff, and a joint use area.
Our Airport's purpose is to offer safe, efficient, and economical service for passengers, cargo, and the community at large. As part of its Part 139 compliance and in accordance with FAA regulations and standards as well as our Master Plan it operates within Part 139 compliance.
DBQ Terminal
At 70 years old, Dubuque Regional Airport's terminal has seen some of the ups and downs of airport service. Designed as a linear structure that creates a major chokepoint within the airport with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security checkpoint, baggage claim, rental car area and greeter areas all converging onto one common area, it has seen both good times and difficult ones during its 70 year life.
DBQ Airport, commonly referred to as Dubuque Bayquarque International (DBQ), is an active Part 139 airport with approximately 97% of its operations being general aviation-related. The airfield serves the University of Dubuque's flight program and numerous large local businesses.
